Slain NYSC members buried in Osun

The remains of two National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members killed in Bauchi during the post-election that engulfed some northern states, were yesterday interred in their hometown of Gbongan, the headquarters of the Ayedaade local government area of Osun State, amidst deep sorrow and anguish.

The slain corps members, Gbenjo Ebenezer Ayotunde with identification number BA/10B/0463 and Adeniyi Kehinde Jehleel with number BA/10B/0197, were batch ‘A' corps members undergoing the compulsory one-year national service in Bauchi State where they met their untimely deaths.

Gbenjo and Adeniyi, who were graduates in economics education and banking and finance, respectively, were two of the nine corps members killed after the April 16 presidential election.

The Osun State government, in compliance with the directives of the federal government and the NYSC, organised a befitting state burial for the two slain corps members in both Osogbo, the state capital, and Gbongan, their home town.
